Jackson Orthodontics - Dr. Jackson with his team

The Jackson Ortho Difference

Our greatest goal is to give you the healthy, straight, beautiful smile you’ve always wanted. We understand that choosing to receive orthodontic care is a big decision, and we respect your reasons for wanting to improve the way you look and feel.

Our practice will work with you every step of the way to make sure your orthodontic care is as comfortable, convenient, and rewarding as possible. We’ll use the latest technology, and offer a variety of safe and gentle treatment options to give you the customized, individual care you deserve.

Every smile starts with a complimentary consultation!

Your complimentary consultation will give you the opportunity to meet our team, as well as learn more about orthodontics, receive a complete initial exam, and find out which treatment options will best meet your needs. During your complimentary consultation, Dr. Jackson will:

  • Review your dental and medical history forms
  • Perform a complete oral exam, with X-rays, to determine if treatment is necessary
  • Create a customized treatment plan
  • Discuss all financial information, insurance options, and payment plans

During your complimentary consultation, we will explain everything you will need to know about your orthodontic treatment, so you can choose what’s best for you — no strings attached. If you’d like to schedule a complimentary consultation with Dr. Jackson, please call our Charlotte location at (704) 464-0696 our Fort Mill location at (803) 547-0301.

What happens after the initial consultation?

If you choose to receive orthodontic treatment, you will need to schedule your first appointment. During your first appointment, Dr. Jackson will place your new orthodontic appliance. Typically, this appointment is no longer than one hour, and then you’re on your way toward your new smile!

Scheduling Appointments

Visiting the orthodontist every four to eight weeks is an important part of your orthodontic treatment. Regular checkups last between 20 and 40 minutes. Our practice will work with you to make sure your appointments are scheduled around your busy schedule … so you will spend less time in the dental chair, and more time enjoying the things you love to do.

We understand that “life happens,” so if you’re running late or need to reschedule, please let us know, and we will do everything we can to accommodate you. When you’re ready to schedule your first appointment, call our Charlotte location at (704) 464-0696 our Fort Mill location at (803) 547-0301; we’re looking forward to working with you.

Visiting the dentist during orthodontic treatment

It is very important that you continue to visit your family dentist once every six months for teeth cleanings and routine dental checkups, even during your orthodontic treatment. If extra dental care is needed, we will be happy to coordinate with your family dentist to make sure you receive the best possible care.

Why an Orthodontist?

Why Choose an Orthodontist?

Orthodontic treatment involves the use of braces and other dental technologies to apply precise forces that result in desired repositioning of the teeth. These changes improve not only the look of your smile, but the health and longevity of your teeth.

Some general dentists take continuing-education seminars in order to offer orthodontic services as a sideline to their primary services. Only your dentist knows what he or she is qualified to do well, however. With so much riding on the quality of treatment, choosing an orthodontic specialist ensures that you will get the best possible results.

To have the best and healthiest smile you can have.

Get it by relying on an orthodontist’s expertise, which comes from his or her extensive education. After graduating from dental school, orthodontists go on for another two or more years of education at an accredited orthodontic residency program.

Only after this extra formal education can one be called an orthodontist. Only orthodontists are accepted for membership in the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO). Selecting a member of the AAO for orthodontic care gives a member of the public the assurance that he or she is selecting an orthodontist.

Orthodontists are dedicated to helping your teeth and jaws work in union so you can speak, bite, and chew comfortably and effectively. There’s a bonus. Teeth and jaws that work well tend to look good, too.

To both feel good and look good.

With care from an orthodontist, you have an expert who has been educated to understand how your teeth, your jaws, and your facial muscles all work together. A healthy mouth contributes to your overall good health. Your appearance gets a boost, too.

To get the specialized treatment you deserve.

You trust your heart to a cardiologist, your skin to a dermatologist, and your knees to an orthopedist. Like these specialists who study their specialty areas after their general medical education, orthodontists devote additional years of study to orthodontics after they graduate from dental school.

And like their medical counterparts, orthodontists limit their practices to their specialty area. Orthodontists have in-depth experience in orthodontic care. They use their knowledge and skills to help you get the best results possible.

To get your bite right.

Your bite is a complex biologic system. Its components include up to 32 teeth, upper and lower jaws, gums, and facial muscles. Your healthy bite is the orthodontist’s goal. The goal is met by making sure the separate elements are positioned for optimal performance. You enjoy the ability to bite, chew, and speak well.

To solve the problem.

You may see six crooked front teeth. The orthodontist sees the cause of crooked teeth in three dimensions. Orthodontists use their education, experience, and expertise to delve deep and discover the root of your orthodontic problem. Armed with a diagnosis that takes all factors into account, orthodontists can plan your solution — one that delivers a healthy, attractive smile and a lasting result.

To recommend the right treatment for you.

There are a lot of treatment options these days, from clear aligners to modern braces. They each have their uses, but only an orthodontist has the specialized knowledge to identify and plan for all the variables in your mouth.

Orthodontists take your unique needs and wishes into consideration, too, when they recommend the right treatment option for you. Orthodontists have knowledge of the full range of orthodontic appliance “tools.” They know what to use and when to use it because they work with these tools every day.

To address the big picture.

Sure, you want a dazzling smile. Your orthodontist wants that for you, too — and treatment results that last. You deserve the best: a good bite and a healthy, beautiful smile. Consult an AAO-member orthodontist for your life, your health, your happiness, and your smile.
